History
It all started over 50 years ago with Fred Davies, a fiercely independent creator of innovation, design, and construction. His mission became the redefinition of audio listening through the purity of concrete horn speakers.
Fred’s career began with the design and installation of large domestic horn systems that could be integrated into the very structure of homes. While practical demands eventually steered his efforts toward PA applications, his passion for a full-range, horn-based domestic system remained steadfast.
He later collaborated with iconic festivals such as Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight. A string of influential musicians like Steve Hillage, Hawkwind, Timo Maas, Orbital and recently Massive Attack have recognised his groundbreaking work.
His expertise in moulding and casting led to the creation of pioneering OEM products for the hi-fi and PA industries, culminating in the introduction of the first free-standing AXJET in 1992—a milestone in acoustic engineering.
After five decades of relentless innovation, this vision has finally been realised in the AXJET PRO—a speaker that encapsulates the essence of AXHORN’s history and commitment to perfection.
