The Revelation 2 Preamplifier distills the designs of our elite preamplifiers into a component practical for audiophiles who don’t require as many inputs.
Importantly, we’ve added C- SMPS, for cleaner, more consistent power than transformer-based power supplies can deliver. As in all of our preamplifiers, the Revelation 2 Preamplifier is based on our exclusive Line Stage Gain Module, which produces truly extraordinary depth and musicality.
Classic Circuitry
The Line Stage Gain Module is a big part of why Constellation components have won raves from so many reviewers over the last decade. The module incorporates fully balanced, mirror-imaged circuits made from hand-matched, low-noise transistors.
A unique servo circuit monitors the signal balance and corrects for any inconsistencies. Owners of Constellation amplifiers can feed the preamplifier output to the amplifier’s Constellation Link input, thus bypassing the amplifier’s input stage for even purer sound.
C-SMPS Power Supply

Our engineers spent years developing our Constellation Switched-Mode Power Supply (C-SMPS), because they knew that despite the engineering challenges, they’d eventually be able to deliver far better results than linear power supplies can achieve. The result is DC voltage more than 20 dB quieter, and the same predictably excellent results no matter what the AC wall voltage.
We further isolate the power supply from the sensitive preamp circuits by placing it in a separate enclosure, milled from aluminum slabs thick enough to block all interference.
True Dual Mono
We built the Revelation 2 Preamplifier in mirror-imaged halves, with the left channel on one side and right channel on the other. The inputs and outputs for left and right channels are also separated. Many dual-mono preamplifiers separate the circuit boards but bring the signals back together at the jack panel, thus reducing the benefit of the dual-mono design.
Simple, Elegant, Powerful
The Revelation 2 Preamplifier is as simple as it is sophisticated. We combine our innovative circuits and power supply with a digitally controlled resistor ladder, for the purest analog sound with precision no potentiometer can match. Volume and other functions are controlled through an LCD touchscreen with intuitive control buttons and indicators along the bottom, and an elegant, machined-aluminum remote control.
