Limited Edition

Sonus faber Concertino G4

This special edition embodies the rich artisanal and acoustic tradition of the renowned Italian brand. Just like in the Italian artisan workshops of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, where an apprentice worked under the guidance of a master for years before becoming a journeyman and eventually aspiring to the title of master through the creation of a ‘masterpiece’, the Maestro Edition represents the culmination of decades of experience, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Enduring luxury meets unparalleled sound

Concertino embodies the essence of Sonus faber: It is a project at the intersection of tradition and experimentation.

A natural elevation of sound.

Through experimentation with new, natural materials, Concertino embraces the Natural Sound philosophy of Sonus faber. While it retains a historic trapezoidal shape emblematic of Sonus faber’s striking visual designs, it incorporates materials such as cork and plant-based leather alternatives for a modern acoustical soundstage.

Simply dynamic

Sonus faber Concertino G4

Concertino is a classic product that enhances Sonus faber’s iconic line of two-way speaker systems. These bookshelf speakers blend our history of timeless Italian craftsmanship with the advancements of new technological lifeblood. In its simplicity, it aims to elevate the acoustic minimalism of our origins.

A celebration of precious materials.

Respect for tradition and passion for innovation.

Concertino is a love song for our past played on a musical instrument of the future.

It is a combination of a classic design with cutting-edge advancements in technology.

Plant-based-leather

Sonus faber Concertino G4

Concertino marks the first introduction of a new eco-friendly leather, produced by the Italian start-up Ohoskin, used to cover the front baffle and cork structure. Its sustainably sourced from the derivatives of Sicilian oranges and prickly pears. This plant-based alternative to leather is one of the first non-fossil variations, ensuring that audiophiles who purchase Concertino receive materials of the highest quality in luxury audio sound reproduction while making a positive environmental impact.

Acoustic properties of cork.

Sonus faber Concertino G4

The unique innovation of Concertino lies in the structure of its central chassis — crafted out of cork. The structure of cork allows it to cleanly mold into each design, limiting internal resonances and reducing damping material inside the cabinet. This natural material adapts to the different needs of each speaker, making it ideal for Concertino but also a valuable asset to a growing number of other collections, such as Suprema and Sonetto. Concertino marks the first time cork has been used while paired with a midwoofer.

Solid wood.

Sonus faber Concertino G4

In keeping with the tradition of Sonus faber’s luxury speakers and Natural Sound philosophy, the side walls of the cabinet are made of solid walnut — a material known not just for its quality but also its acoustic properties. The ribbing of the surface adds structure and rigidity to the wood cabinet in place of internal bracing.

Custom designed stand.

Sonus faber Concertino G4

As an optional add-on, the Concertino is complemented by a dedicated stand, designed to enrich the speaker’s overall aesthetic as well as reduce vibrations, especially in the lowest frequencies. The stand is derived from an IPE 120×64 beam, giving it a structural architectural stability with a primitive, industrial flair. The stand is enhanced with walnut veneer inserts.

Concertino technology & materials.

Signature elements

Sonus faber Concertino G4

Continuing the tradition of Sonus faber’s history in luxury speaker construction, the Concertino 2-way speaker system is designed to deliver the ultimate audio immersion experience. It features a 1” silk dome tweeter with D.A.D. technology and a 5” long-throw paper pulp midwoofer with an organic basket – a Sonus faber signature element.

Rear reflex duct.

Sonus faber Concertino G4

Unlike its predecessor, the reflex duct is now placed at the back of the cabinet in order to avoid front turbulence.

High-quality materials.

Sonus faber Concertino G4

The quality of the Concertino speaker is also elevated through the use of aluminum for the ring enclosing the silk tweeter and walnut wood for the output of the reflex duct. Additionally, the pull rod of the brass nameplate of the binding posts is also constructed out of wood.
